toe eye mot fail ?

at work the other day and one of the blokes said that it will fail the mot for it because it sticks out from the car. would it?

Not really a difficult thing to fix if your worried though.

My understanding is that they are not allowed to be "sticking out" past the front of the bumper for pedestrian safety reasons.

Fixed one would fail, surely. Collapsed ones though, should be fine - mine was anyway.

thats what i said but the guy is adament that it would fail. it would fail regardless as its having a de cat put on soon so ill be needing a friendly mot station anyway but just wonderd if there was any truth in what he was saying.
