First I've seen or heard of this. The snowdrop engine looks impressive.

Will keep an eye on this one....

I spent about 12 years in the games industry as a programmer mate; specialised in 3D graphics and rendering technology / engines. Worked on several games, got made redundant several times, left to find work in a different industry! Whilst I no longer work in the games industry I do perform the same sort of work nowadays albeit in a non-gaming environment. :) I have loads of mates who still work in the industry and I quite often get invited back. Whilst this is very flattering I'm afraid I've become too comfortable in my current position to go back. But never say never... :p

I don't have much I can share in public due to the nature of my work but here's some links to threads / screenshots of stuff I've done at home or in my own time (realtime and non-realtime graphics rendering).

Getting back to this game... if this is as good as I hope then I might even consider moving to somewhere with a better Internet connection so I can play it! :D

Nice, ive seen your stuff I think. Looks good. I know how difficult organic modeling is and your work looks decent!

Lol at moving for an internet connection.

It is single player right? I dont want to play with other people.

Looks amazing glad there is a pc version (can't believe they wouldn't consider a pc version). Does look a bit like Arma 2 but set in a city.

I've been looking forward to this for a long time. I hope it's worth the wait.
Least it's not being developed by DICE.

Erm I dunno if it was a typo but I read this morning even 2015 is looking a stretch and 2016 more likely, as the game isn't playable at all currently - basically they have a concept and some nice graphic demos so far...

Not that impressed with the beta...
Unless its had major work done the graphics are a let down and its just a run and gun game with an rpg thrown in brighter really seems to compliment each other to me

I'll admit, I pigeon holed this game before even playing it as another Destiny. (which I really didn't enjoy) however after a few hours on the Beta I'm having a bloody good time!

To be fair the actual game structure is very similar to Destiny albeit a more modern day shooter. Which for me is a much more interesting setup!

The whole doomsday '21 days later' theme is fantastic, and the fact that its set in New York really works.

One stand out feature for me is the 'dark zone' which is a heavily quarantined part of the city where anything goes. Including PvP but what makes this even more tense is the fact that whatever loot you acquire in this zone must be airlifted out for 'decontamination' before you can use it. It's bloody tense! And IMO works!

Got a beta key but can't be arsed to install it.

I only play grindy RPG type games because I like to make my character sexy. Destiny delivers on that. All the videos I've seen of the beta so far has everyone just wearing crappy boring clothes and firing a hundred bullets from crappy boring guns into an enemies head whilst a health bar goes down.

The concept doesn't work for me in a realistic-ish setting.

Sure its early game but it ain't like you are going to get sexy gear later on because it wouldn't fit with the world and would break immersion if everyone got bright pink power armour, magic spelling casting abilities and laser guns! I mean "hey I have a George (from Asda) winter coat with a hole in the sleeve and I just killed this boss and I got an epic North Face waterproof coat drop instead".

Wow lol.

Well... I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought I'd have a quick go on the PC beta... and suddenly find 4-5 hours have gone by. I am really, really enjoying it. It's slick, looks good, sounds good and the combat is solid and rewarding. I've grabbed some footage but don't know if I can be arsed to edit it all together! It's probably not much different to what has already been posted up.

I think that it will be even more fun playing in a team with a group of mates. Great first impression :)
