Tom tom Go - £418.00!

Just purchased a tomtom go online - £418.00 from Comet

Apart from an external aerial, is there anything else I might need?

it means im giong to have some more work to do as i work a the ndc

even more so if you have requested it for home delivery, meansim going to actually have to do some work

Its great, Has has one in his car, brought it when it fist came out.

I ahve the set up on ipaq wiht wireless gps reciever which i personally prefer, but its up to you if you want a relativly large single all in one unit, or serveral small components

Has 16v how much can you get them for? It looks like it would sit nice in the cut out on top of my 182 dash

Day^ you shouldnt need a external arial... All the map info is on a disc innit. You can also get GATSO disc so you know where all the little frikkers are.

How does the unit know where you are without a GPS signal then?

Ive done some research using the search facility and the results seem to suggest its needed with my windscreen.

it does work via a gps signal, but the antenna is built in the unit, external ariel is for heat reflective screens etc

I have a Tom Tom Go in my 182. A Tom Tom external aerial IS needed. It is not just an aerial, but includes a new base aswell. I have my receiver stuck to the little rectangular window at bottom of screen with velcro. All for £50.

lol i just stuck mine on the side window.

when i get a spare moment i will make up a bracket.

Been playing with it tonight and it needs one defiantly. It works in places but takes forever just to get a fix on any satellites only to loose them again shortly after .

I ordered an external aerial the same day as the GO but every supplier seems to be out of stock until next week!
