Comet have this for £379 online, gonna order one today for my old man for xmas!

Do these have postcode search on them? and will i need owt else other than what comes with it?

It does indeed have a postcode search.

Nothing else is needed unless your windscreen is heated or solar reflective.
- Then you may need an external aerial.

postcode search is limited to the first 4 letter/numbers, same with all commercial GPS software

As i have seen it advertised as door to door navigation which would not be possible with such a limited search!

iv got tomtom2 on my pda, that asks for street name and house number!

but iv also installed a postcode database which works a treat!

p.s i rang comet and they did it me for £379!

yeah, first four digits of the postcode.

The door to door is different. The first four letters are basically telling it what town, just to save you typing in a town - its one or the other really - then it gives the chance to put in the street name (if it let u put in a full postcode it wouldnt need the street name), then the house number

im thinking about getting my old man one of these for xmas. just a couple of questions....

Does it have speed camera alerts? He has a RA2 at the min, but wants to give it to my mum and get sat nav with speed camera alerts, rather than have loads of seperate units.

you can download GATSO/mobile/redlight overlays for the software, in the same way you can download mcdonalds overlays, lol

theres also additional proximity software that can be had to alert you when you approach the point of interest (ie gatso)
