Tomtom not connecting

My Tomtom wont connect in the rain, an wen it does it connects for about 20 seconds and then disconnects. I havnt got a heated front screen and it works fine in the sun. Do you think an external reciver will fix this? or is it just the water in the air f*cking it up? Does any1 else have this problem??????????

ah mine never connects. takes about 20 mins after i turn it on to get signal, which means i have to guess half my journey, bloody thing.

Check its got the latest firmware and give it a reset with the little button thing underneith, sometimes helps.

i have the external reciever in the back window/parcel shelf with the tomtom located down in the drinks holders at the bottom-center of the dash (mk2 ph2) and i get 5+ satellites all the time, usually have a usable signal within 10 seconds.... latest firmware too (tomtom go 700)

Rain/clouds etc all effect the signal strength - if your signal on a normal day is a tad touchy i'd recommend getting the external ant'.

Tinted - heated - cracked - dirty - aid infested...if your windscreen is any of them it will affect it!

Yes mines a Go700 aswell, iv just updated the firmware gona see how that goes
