TomTom

A large group of us are off to the 'Ring this time next week and I asked my mate if I could borrow his TomTom. He said it's very tepremental. Anyway, I tested it on the way to work this morning and apart from the battery being flat, which was then half charged by the time I got to work, throughout the whole half an hour journey, the message read...

"Waiting for a valid GPS signal"

My mate told me the only place his TomTom works/get signal is if it's placed onto the rectangular area at the base of the windscreen, which is where the rain/light sensor thing is. I'm not sure which one's which but you know what I mean. So, is this correct or would it just be a problem with his particular TomTom. The one he has lent me was the TomTom Go 700.

Its to do with the screen in the Clio I think..I could never get my dads Tom-Tom to get signal in my car..Only palce it might is on the A pillar (drivers side one)

The new tomtom's work fine under the UV window. My One v3 is spot on, full signal every time.

Unfortunately Damo, you'll need an extended aerial for the tomtom which can be mounted either outside, or at the rear of the car where it'll receive a signal.
