Torx sets are good - got one for £15 - just the heads that should fit on most heads - the torx rench is a bit more expensive around £30 but pretty vital. Have you got a motorist discount centre near you coz they are really good on prices.....
over the years i just bought what i needed for each job, now i have pretty much everything, halfords are as good as anywhere, some stuff they do is a little crap but you get hwta you pay for.
Its a Halfords Professional set I have. Since getting it Ive never needed to get anything else as its pretty comprehensive being the 150 pc set. The quality seems decent as well, not broken anything yet anyway. The only thing I need now is a torque wrench.
I got it last year in a special offer I think it mormally sits at about £120-£150. Sounds expensive till you realise its £1 per piece and you then see what they sell the individual sockets at!
I have a 42pc Draper expert socket set, very good, but lookign for a torque wrench and my set has 3/8" square drive and i cant find a torque wrench that goes over 120 Nm. Think i might have to settle for a draper 1/2" drive torque wrench and buy a converter (£6 + VAT - ripoff)
yeah ive looked throguh halford a tool supplier called "Toolbank" and draper, even spoken to the draper rep, and all the higher torque wrenches seem to be 1/2" drive. Might have to invest in a set of 1/2" sockets, seeing as i get draper stuff at cost (basically half price)
