Top mount

How THICK are Renault mechanics!!!!!! Had my car in at Renault to get a knocking fixed it only happend when you put the foot down they the foreman give him his due said it was the top mount bracket had slipped and the i think he said the manafold was hitting off the sub frame and that was the reason i was feeling it though the stearing wheel cos the rack is fixed to the frame he said quick job just 4 16mm nuts and move the bracket happy days er no
six hours later got the car back took it up the road and it was worse got home and had a look at it yes they had moved the bracket but i mean i am no expert but it looked as if they have moved it the wrong way there was a big gap between the rubber and the bracket so when you put the foot down the engine wants to move in the direction of the bulkhead so now with the big gap the engine was moving far two much hence it hitting off stuff it shouldnt,these guys are mechanics for god sake.
so out came my rusty socket set and i adjusted it the other way and hay presto it's fine now. sorry its a long one guys, i have put up some pics after i fixed it and in one you can see by the marks how far the other way they had it

That is a piss take!

Dave had his in at Renault for the same fault iirc. But they were taking it out for test runs then ringing him up saying we havnt found out a problem yet so you will have to pa X amount for our time.... He kept saying drive it again! lol they eventually found out the problem! So he didnt have to pay a penny.
