Top up oil with 10w40?

The Clio (1.2 16v) needs a bit of oil I think, as it's just above min on the dipstick.

I *think* they should have 5W40 in, although no idea what would be in it, probably 10w40 as it had an oil change when we bought it.

Anyway, I have a litre of 10w40 sat in my car, can I just top it up with that? Oils mix and all that. Would only be putting 250ml in anyway I imagine.

Ok I wasn't sure, as I can't even remember what I put in the 182. I think 10w40 should be ok, just wanted to make sure.

I agree to, but wouldnt put anything less than Castrol 5w/40 fully synth in mine

oils oil tbh, so longs as its not 20/50 it wont hurt on a clio

All oils mix so no problem topping up with 10w-40 semi. 5w-40 synthetic would be a better choice but as you dont know what is in it then you could just be topping up 10w-40 semi anyway.
