well had a nice we accident which is now costing me the best part of £600

gf told me i had to take her to glasgow to see her family(didnt want to go) anyway on the way got slightly lost and had to result in looking at sign posts at about 15mph . whilst doing this didnt notice that there was as great big kerb and sign post in the middle of the road and ended up running over it and kerbing my wheels. after i thought nothing off it just a reburb on the wheel til i noticed something different about my seat belt. it had only went and caused the seat belt tensioner to release and set the service and airbag lights on.

off i went to get the light reset only for them to say sorry but you need a new ecu, seat belt tensioner, tyres and all the lights reset

all in all taking the b**ch gf to glasgow has cost me in all £800 wont be doing that again anyway

Not exactly your gf's fault mate. No matter how pissed off you are about the situation. At the end of the day whether you knew where you were or not, you were in control of the car.

Yeah can't blame your missus really, good job it was a curb and not a kid otherwise you would be well and truly f*cked!!!

£600 is a lot of money but not so much that you would have to claim on your insurance so at least you keep your clean record.

Just get it fixed and learn from the experience.

My mate did almost exactly the same thing but that was driving his Mk1 V6 out of a pub carpark. £1500 was the damage as it knackered everything up under the car. Thats an expensive couple of pints.

perhaps, as always you should look where you are going. Were you driving? YES, were you in control? YES. Why is your girlfriends fault???. You chose to drive and f""k up.

Give it up and not ask for what, sympathy, none deserved. You fu2ked up and now have to deal with it.

Why have you posted this, you are obviously responsible anyway.
Perhaps you need some anger management???

Anger management? Are you having a laugh, blaze? You're the one who needs anger management.

Look at you, you come on to this forum acting all high and mighty. I've seen a few threads in which you've posted since you joined. You're always the same, derogatory comments, slagging people off.. Why don't you just climb back under the rock from which you came and stop pissing everyone off.

Prcan , a NUT by any other name.

Look listen and learn, you may have an issue with the realities of life, well ho hum. Not the fact that I fucced up afterall. Toypop ahs said the same. Why should I listen to a vindictive/ self loving muppet.

The roads and stats. say it all. Ignore them if you will.

My comments were not aimed at you, So why the agro???. It was a previous issue. Grow up. Sometimes it beggars beliief???????

You have found it necesary to be aggeressve and confrontational without being questioned in the first place.

Rattle and cage seems to spring to mind

Gutted for you matey - it's such a pain in the ar*e when stuff like that happens, but like others have said, try not to blame the gf, and try to ignore some of the less constructive criticism on here

I had similar, £450 to fix mine, plus replacement front end.

Still my young divers excess is £400 I think, so there was no point in claiming.

Y'know, how can I argue with such rediculous comebacks as yours? This one is a classic by your standards, I was expecting something like this.

D'you know what I think, blaze? I think all of these assumptions you make about people e.g. self loving muppet, I have issues etc. I think that these are all reflections of your very own insecurities. Believe me my friend, I don't love myself (God knows what gave you that idea (someone help me out?)) I don't even think I have many 'issues' either.

It just makes me laugh when I read your comments.Your attitude to everyone else on this forum stinks. You think you're above everyone else, you know best etc. You're the one who needs to grow up because it appears to me, and I think I speak for more than myself when I say that, you seem to have the mental age of a five year old.

Wouldnt cost you that money. Airbag computer/module is £150 and pretensioner is £75 new from renault. Both can be fitted by yourself. Once fitted find someone with a computer for the car (sykes picavant or the likes), Like any local autospark, and get him to arm the new computer.

However, you can get the pretensioner from scrapyards or ebay:

drivers side £25+postage:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290019666613&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1
Postage will not be £10 on that, they're light as fook. Talk to him about it.

I would not recommend buying an airbag computer secondhand. Many people get shafted over it.... including me. I bought one from ebay which was "100% gauranteed not to have been activated", i bought it, fitted it, and it had 7 fault codes on it. Seller wouldn't give money back, but after a lengthly paypal dispute i got most of it back.

Try Local bodyshops/ renault specialists which would have a renault 15% traders discount card to save yoursel a bit of money.

It might very worth giving your subframe a good look over too as they bend very easily. Just look to see if anything is bent, or if the drivers side is differnt from the passengers side etc.

Goodluck.
