Tough little cars

  Mustang, S13, AX GT
These clios sure are tough, mines looking good to have survived a hard impact that did some damage to the front of an MG ZR... its all looking cosmetic, very impressed

There NCAP 4 star safety record says a lot about the car.
You've been helped by the big metal bar right behind the bumper you can just see in the pics which has taken the force.
From the looks its just paint and panels for both cars.

Heres hoping, If its affordable then it isn't being claimed I'll pay for it out of pocket, but his airbag didn't even go off at that impact! Its really an eye opener, on the day I bought the clio I'd been treated like a complete tw*t by MG when I was there to buy a ZR, and so went elsewhere and found my clio. I think I should go and thank the MG garage...

Holy hell there is £1600 worth of damage on my car!!! they are replacing suspension components, fingers crossed they dont recognise the uprated springs...

Wouldn't personally agree their tough at all, I crashed mine at about 20mph(fair enough i was going sideways) but it caused £4000 of damage. The plastic wings and crumples zone might make it more user and pedestrian friendly but the will also make your car look a much bigger mess from a minor accident compared to some of the bigger cars.
Your tyre looks ok and the wheel looks pretty straight so fingers crossed it will just be cosmetic.
Funny about the airbad in the MG, i had one spin it at motorway speeds infront of me, it hit the crash barrier spinning about four times then came back at my car. Their airbags never deployed either.

The cars are diigned to break like that though crash a land rover at 20 and you'll have a right bad injoury most likly roll the car then gain you've got to get a land rover sideways at 20mph first.

Yeah i know their designed to crumple but i'm just commenting that for instance your example the land rover would be a tough car, whereas a clio would be a safe car.

Judging by your post - you've not declared your springs then? HAve you declared your wheels?

  Turbos.
That's the problem with these modern cars, you brush past them and they look like they've been hit by a freight train!

Hope you get it sorted, i guess if you spend time scouring scrappies and can get the painting done cheap, you could really get the parts for a few hundred.

nope, the wheels and springs are the only undeclared mods, purely because springs had my mate looking for ages for an insurance company to insure him reasonably and the wheels which I bought for £400 were going to add £700 to my policy. It was a close call though, the garage doing the repairs said that the side skirts are damaged, and to replace them they would need to photo the damage which would include the wheel. I think I might end up putting the renault ones back on in anthracite or something, I'm undecided...
