Tow Strap/Cup Racer Tow Eye any advantage over standard?

Hi Guys,

Is there any practical advantage over the standard towing eye? Just wondering if there is something I'm missing other then aesthetics?

They stick out less as they droop, so you can leave them in without impaling pedestrians.
