Towbar

Hi,

Does anyone know if a towbar is available, or can be fitted to a Clio 182 Sport ?

To be used mainly for a pushbike carrier and once in a while for a motorcycle trailer.

Please advise of the supplier if you know of one.

I dont think they can be fitted to the 182 because of the exhaust.

a pushbike goes in the back of a Clio - no prob

front wheel out, more space with seat base cushions out also!

Deffo not on a 182 cos of the exhaust (172s are fine though) - I use the wifes motor to tow around my bike!

No reason why a specialist towbar place couldnt make one up for you; although you would run into probs with insurance (& warranty I suppose) if you have a crash whilst towing!

i spent ages trying to find one and you cant get one.

was told that nobody could make a custom one because it has to be type approved.

renault said they have no plans to make one either.

if every 182 owner bombards renault or a towbar manufactuer with calls asking if they make 1 they might consider it then because they think there is a market for 1

Will the 172 one not fit at all? Modify it?

i also tryed to get one to tow me jetski but no luck either.

i was told by a tow bar supplier that it was about £2000 to get it through the tests, now to renault that is nothing

my solution - get a volvo if u want a tow bar!! Wouldnt any of you worry what it would look like with a tow bar on ur 182s?

Might be useful when you have to be pulled out of a ditch.

But seriously it would spoil the good looks of the back of the 182
