Toxic Emissions Warning Light

Couple of days ago, the above warning light started to flash on my dashboard when my car was idling. It has since gone away, but the mpg is rather poor at 38mpg (1.2 TCE).
I put the fault down to the usual crap French electrics but do you think its worth getting checked anyway?? Car is a 10 plate so still plenty warranty left,

Cheers
Al

On a 1.2 TCE it is - My work bus (1.6 16v Scenic) does 42-45mpg all day long and thats lugging all my tools and kit about.

Back to Renault for a Clip/Live data session to see what HO2S1 is up to along with the CTS

Got it diagnosed
Apparently theres a misfire on a cylinder and it needs a new set of cylinder leads. Theres is unburned fuel going through the system, hence the low mpg.
Raging on such a new car but least it will be all fixed under warranty

New HT leads by the sounds of things, not exactly something to get stressed about.

Things do go wrong though - no manufacturer can say with 100% certainty that 100% of there products will function or perform 100% of the time, everytime. Even new parts can come out of a box and be found to be faulty and Renault don't make every component in the assembly that makes up your car.

Its not a good image for Renault but it didn't cost you any money either so big thumbs up for that. My Laguna II had a gearbox failure after 18 months of ownership and whilst it took them the best part of a week to source and fit it they did it and all for free (A warranty bill of around £4k i recon plus I also paid for a new clutch and that was fitted for free at the same time)
