Toxic fume monitoring warning light!!!!!!

my toxic fume monitoring warning light came on last night and is still on today, all the time

i have had a sports cat on for about 6 week and i guess this is why the light had come on. so i guess i would fail an mot?

i splashed out on the sports cat (and not a decat) so this would not happen and i dont want the light on all the time:dapprove:

so what can i do, could it be anything else? what should i check?

Get a code reader that allows you to turn it off.

I have a sports cat and for about a year it was fine, then the light come on. Renault reset the ecu when changing something else. This turned the light off and it hasn't come back.

oh so if the light comes on it stays on (until reset) even tho its running fine now!

so where can i get and how much is a code reader that allows me to turn it off? or do i have to take it into a garage?

edit - can i just un-plug the batery for 30mins or so, will this reset it?

mine came on after i got and induction kit and backbox, so im interested in where you
can by a code reader too.

I got a code reader off ebay for £25. a gs100

I can download and erase codes, but I don't know if it allows me to reset the ecu or whether if you earse the code turning the light on, it puts the light out. I haven't had an issue since buying the reader.

I think a battery disconnect doesn't work, but tbh its worth a try if you have your radio code.

:dapprove: ^^ but will it pass an mot? it's a janspeed and sayes on the website where i got it from MOT legal!

could this be any thing else? what should i check?

Its not unheard of for cars to pass MOT with a decat on matey, you'll be fine with the sports cat come MOT time tho..

Most who run a decat on their car will just take it off for MOT put on the standard cat, car passes, back home put the decat back on..

good good, but the light still pisses me off

if i disconect it can it do harm?

is the light only to say ur cat is not working?

Not sure what its for exactly mate, one of the more technical members should be able to clear this up tho...
