Track day insurance

  Astra van,Mk1 nova
Was intrested in getting this for a track day coming up. Do my insurers offer it? (elephant) What does it cover? And is it expensive?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Ok, went and got a quote with moris! £750 excess:S Thats crazy! Its only £40 for the day insurance

What does everyone think about this excess, anyone had an excess like this for trackday insurance?

  BMW M5 & E36
Yep, theyre all mega high. Moris also did (for another £15 or so) an option to insure your excess, so if you bin it and cause more than £750's worth of damage then you dont pay a penny.

If you're going to do some harm it'll most likely be BIG, so the £750 excess isn't too bad...even a gentle trip into the gravel could cause that much damage.

  172 , looking for a 4x4 !
eggar lawson, cci only charge 10 percent excess of the value of your car.
i recently had an mx5 obliterated at brands hatch and they paid up no problem and took the excess out of the pay out.

i got what i wanted for the car with the minimal of arguing!!

Ok cheers guys. First time ive done anything like this. Just want to be prepared :D

I think i will just go with moris and insure my excess. £40 + £15 is a bargain for peice of mind really.

Yeah I've looked at that one also Lee, the only thing that stopped me actually buying their policy is the fact that it doesn't state what value the car is insured upto.

It lists various other levels of cover but unless I'm being blind I couldn't find the vehicle cover.

You sort it out amongst yourselves:rasp:

If your going on track it's not worth not having cover. As already said, the cover is for 'you' & you only. So if you run into or are run into it's only your car covered.

Thats health insurance pal. I had a look at them, got confused so I rang them, its just personal cover, not car cover.

That makes more sense. I wonder how many people have bought that without realising - very confusing website!

lol I've just spent the past 20 minutes reading that site and binned it off in the end. I'll give MORIS or CCI a ring closer to the time. Might even give Brentacre a ring, my insurer, and ask them if they can do it.
