track day prep

  RB 182
hope to be doing my first track day next week all being well. I'm changing the oil. discs, pads and putting some braided hoses on beforehand. I've been told to put tyre pressures up and some people have said drop them a bit to. anybody else have any thoughts on this. anything else i should know before going on track. cheers

its down to personnal choice and driving style

start with them at 30psi all round (cold) and see how you get on

  Shhh
Normal road use, the tyres should be around 30psi, depending on load.

On the track, the tyres will get hotter faster, this will increase the pressures in the tyres, therefore you would be best to reduce them to ensure you get maximum tread on the track.

I would leave the tyres as they are, spend 10-15mins on normal pressures, then come in, and see how the tyres are wearing.

If they are wearing ok then leave them and watch them when you come off the circuit, if they are on the tyre wall increase, and not wearing on the edge reduce them.
