Trackday at Croft today (56k - Does anyone still have 56k?)

  Elise/VX220/R26
Had a superb day today at Croft! Weather was a bit iffy in the morning (check the state of the car that was gleaming before I set off!) Navigated my way up the A1 having to pull off to check for damage after a van shed a plastic wheel arch part right in front of me! Thankfully it was ok so it was onto croft for my second visit to the circuit.

My playmate for the day was the chap in this RS4

On the first session he was surprised to see me pass him and pull a goof half lap on him. He had a top attitude as it was his first trackday in the RS4 and as I was up to speed having done the track before he followed me for a couple of sessions and me following him for one. Towards the end of the day there was nothing in our laptimes. He was mullering me on the straights but the VX was pushing him round the corners. Made the day really as you do get some people in cars like that that would be proper arsey with a VX all over their ass.

Sadly he ended the last session in the kitty litter. Not sure what happened but luckily there was no damage to the car.

Radical. Says it all really (especially if your a mutant ninja turtle)

Some of the ring trip guys might recognise this Arosa. This chap and a few of his mates were at the 'ring in May when we were there. They are from Wakefield too. Small world! He could really drive too. It was arse end out all over the place and flying round.

This KA was impressive. Ex rally car and is officially the most side ways I've ever seen an FWD car. On this same corner he was regularly getting 45 degrees.

Supercharged m3. No point having something like this if you cant drive it. The owner sadly had no idea. One of the slowest cars in my session!

Saw you parked down with the other Meggy...

We wentalong from 10-12 and saw some good sessions. We were talking to the guy with the Vodaphone Westfield for a while - his 1st time out in nealry 8 months, told us how unreliable it was, 2 bad companies working on it etc. When he came in after 4 laps we felt sorry for him :(

Was surprised how quiet the T350 too...

  Damage repaired
The guy in the Trophy has been up a couple of times iirc, seen him last time i was at Croft, have got him on video somewhere going well and sounding nice too.

Mr Burp, keep your car on the road and come up and do this day in December!

http://www.circuit-days.co.uk/event_details.php?venue_id=&event_id=189

Circuit-Days are the only ones to do open-pit at Croft (plus free extra driver & passengers - plus FREE instruction session!) - £119 is a bargain!

They also have a day there early-October for £149 (but I am on holiday that week).
