tracking sorted - crooked steering wheel

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
alrite chaps just had my tracking(laser alignment) done after busting a tyre in a pothole doh:S

so after getting the car back after a few miles i noticed when i was going straight down the road, just taking it easy the steering wheel is a bout an inch down , to the right

am sure it woznt like this b4. The garage who did the tracking are gonna have a look on friday coz his machines `a bit dodgy & I carnt see 1 of the gauges properly` a service bloke is supose to be going this week. But he sed its probably just my steering wheel out of line though ?? huh

so i asked some guys at work - so some lads said, just take the steering wheel of and straightn it up -peace of P

so - i asked a different dude at work who happens to have had a 172 too and he said that the clios have a keyed slot which means you can only move the wheel buy quite big increments which might not make it any better, ands also the clios have quite long adjusters on the track rod ends and the guy who did the traking has just done things the quick way thats why the steering wheel is not straight

so any ideas?? i dont want the garage guy just to fob me off on friday
cheers

when i had my steering wheel fitted, i noticed that it wasnt sitting centally, so i asked fred about it ages ago, and he said that the steering wheel has to go on retaining lugs, so it cant go on crooked.

i had mine tracked, cambered and lasered and since then its sat perfectly straight, so i would assume the garage has done a bit of a crap job on it.

for the car to drive straight they have to align the wheels after making sure the steering wheels straight ahead otherwise like your car it will drive straight in whatever position the steering wheel was in.go back to them and tell them to sort it i would.
can happen aswell though if you have a new rack fitted the intermediate shaft can come out and unless the position has been marker a crap job to relalign it maybe this.
you cant just relalign the steering wheel by taking putting changing the position of the wheel it has a locater on it
