Traction Control?

  BG 182
Ive just purchased a 2002 Clio Sport 172 and need a little advice. When i start the car all the lights on the dashboard light up apart from the traction control light which remains unlit. I was told by the person who i bought the car from that it had traction control, yet if i give it just a little to much revs when setting off i get a lot of wheelspin. Can any body please tell me if this year and model came with traction control as standard and is it possible to find out if the traction control is not working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ;)

PS: Just wondering what the FF after some of the 172 stands for?

FF means full fat mate. All the toys etc! Not sure about the traction control and when it became standard, but someone will be along soon to tell you. All i know is I've got it. lol. Enjoy the car mate and welcome to CS.

You will either have ESP or not. If you have, you will have a button for it next to the dash dimmer switch. If not, you don't have it.

I have a 2002 172FF and I have it.

It became standard in late 172's as in around 53/04 plates to bring it inline with the 182's which have it. 02 172 wont have it unless it was spec'd at the dealer. Do you have the switch to deactivate it as this is a sure fire way to tell? ;)
