Not as far as I'm aware, I've seen a few mounted in odd positions shall we say, needs to be within 2 feet of the ground though according to the manual (for the newer x2 transponders)

Thanks! Mines an older AMB version but suspect the principles the same. Will whip bumper off over next few weeks and try it somewhere tucked away and protected.

Another option for you to consider, again the older type AMB, and a bit more than 2ft from the ground, but not had any issues
