TRAX All Attendees Read - Important

  Engles Mummy
Hi All,

I'm going to keep this short & simple.

Can the people who saw the car accident involving myself & peperami (Dan) at the Trax Event in the Cliosport car park, private message me please!

This is very important

Thanks, Adam

I need atleast 2 people who saw the accident. Just makes it easier to claim on insurance, as they will probably make out me & dan were on track when it happened, which isn't true.

No one was hurt, dan left his car in gear, turned it on and it went in to the side of mine.

Come on people!

Are you actually insured on the field? Wouldnt have thought you were.

hmmm bit of a grey area tbh... but i'd imagine you would be. It was an area where the public had access to it so i'd imagine the same normal insurance areas cover it. I tihkn just because it was an accidnet that didn't happen on a highway doesn't mean you wouldn't be covered.

I would compare it to a large carpark where you have to pay for access.

i disagree.

For example, would an insurance company refuse to pay out for any claims that occured between two cars at a car boot sale on some muddy field? I am sure someone has paid out for claims like that. Same kind of thing really. Large group of cars in a field with people walking about.

I'd imagine they would pay as i beleive insurance companies are obliged to pay out for third party claims even if the insurance has been void. I have seen it happen with a rider of a ducati motorbike who was driving it on a restricted license. Totally differnet scenario i know but inessence similar thoery about no insurance.Even though the riders insurnace was void, they still paid the tihrd party claim to the vehicle damaged.

Thats my view on it, but maybe some one who works in the insurance world can give a definitive view as i reckon i may well be wrong! :)

  ST on the way...
One of our lads at work had an incident in our car park at work a while ago which has limited public access, insurance still payed out.

What reasons did they give you as to why? You are only in a car park after all. Did they offer you any advice as to being able to get cover at a car show?

Which insurance company?

tesco, erm it was nearly a year ago now so cant remember exactly, something about public exibition sp* plus if its in the confines of a track area.. ie inside silverstone unless inployed by them or there for bussiness use, when insured for bussiness usage.
