Trip Computer On 172

anybody know if theres a way to put on the trip computer on my mk2 172
as its not on at the moment
its got a reset button on the clocks but no display the mileage is fine i just want the trip computer to work

plus whats the flashing engine warning light on the clocks above the shift light it came on today and then when i switched of the car and restarted it its been fine since (ive not got a handbook)

Press the button on the end of the wiper stalk to cycle to the trip function then reset it by pressing the button under the display.

if your cars new (to you) and you got no manual you might wanna know some little tips..

auto door locking on/off

press and hold the little padlock button on the dash for a couple of seconds to switch between it.. locks the doors when u get to about 4mph to prevent any car jacking..

auto lights on/off

turn the ignition on but DONT start the engine. flick your lights on off on off quickly and it should beep to confirm automatic lights are on/off

auto wipers

put the wiper onto position 1, it should auto wipe when the screen gets too wet. sensitivty adjusted by the 'volume' kinda looking dial next to it.. also when this is set the rear wiper will coem on when you select reverse gear automatically..
needs to be set everytime you switch the car on though.


heated wingmirrors

come on with the heated rear screen


mute/pause

press both volume up and down together on the 'remote control' to pause a cd or mute the radio.


front headlamp washers.
when your lights are on and you squirt the windscreen, the headlamp washers will squirt too (take a couple of second slonger than the screen wash, you will hear the pump noise change)
