real blonde moment, but i dont see it, and when i press that button next to speedo it dont do anything, am i pressing it at wrong time? do i need to hold it down? 1.2 16v dynamique, says it had avarage mpg on it too in manual or is that not for dynamique spec?

Yep sounds like the wrong button to me, on the end of your wiper stalk there should b a button press that to get what u want, the one by the speedo only resets the trip meter.
