Tripods - All the same?

are they universal fitment...

for example:

Most have a little screw thing on the bottom of the camera, all universal as far as i'm aware.

All camera tripods have the same thread fitment, and.. if your buying one for a camera, I'd suggest one with spirit levels too

Yes it should be fine but there not universal in quality, wouldn't put a 400D on that.... let my mate borrow my plastic jessops tripod and he face planted his Nikon D50 lol
