turbo

dont mean to sound rude mate but forget it.

Even if you could find somewhere to fabricate custom manifolds, they would cost an absolute fortune.

Then you have the issue of only 1 injector so fueling is going to be a problem.

Overall much cheaper to have a 5gtt engine fitted

Iv got a 1.2, was thinking of messing round with putting a turbo on it. Thing is it is one hell of a lot of money, where as you might as well sell the car and get a bigger engined car to turbo, then you would be looking at a better investment of the cash. For now i am going to get some nitrous to play with, it costs a lot less and some kits can be moved from car to car pretty easily, which is ideal.

If you want cheap thrills on a basic relatively small engine, get nitrous. Otherwise get a GTT engine and whack it in there.

They are 1.4s but they are designed to run with a turbo unit and have been changed in various ways to cope with this, as Nick said best bet would be the GTT conversion to get your turbo thrills!!

Try asking lowe on the RSC forum, hes got a GTT lump in an 5 door...

Not worth the hassle for a 1.4, cos the 1.4turbo lumps ready to go from a GTT - like everybodys said its not worth the hassle.

You can ask Lowe, but his conversion isnt the best I have seen, any questions give me a shout mate as mine is away being converted at the moment!

Just suggested that cos its the only one i know of!! never spoke to the guy myself!

how does the GTT conversion compare to the valvers performance??

Lol sorry mate!! Just wasnt impressed with where the battery and stuff were located on lowes, seemed a bit dangerous.

It will be loads quicker than the standard 16v, even on the standard turbo, but I am having various things uprated to help with the power and cooling.

I have had a little look around for renault 5 gt turbo engines, but cant find any. Just looking at prices and info at the moment. anyone know any good places to look?, was looking at "find a part" someone told me they were a bit expensive though. I might just buy a gt turbo as a little run around for a while.

yeah catch22 again, if I bought a good 5 I would probably end up wanting to keep it.

It would be faster and handle better than a clio gtt ever would
