He was working on a turbod 172 but it was never gonna have that much power...

Its been done here in SA.

Only info I have is that it was done on a yellow mk1 172 using a hybrid T3/4

The owner also had a 50 shot of NOS and was running sub 12 second 1/4mile

Hold on, all I ever read on these boards is how 172 owners cant get any traction in the first 3 gears when accelerating hard.

What do you think it will be like once you put a turbo on it!? To be honest, youd be better off spending the money on improving traction than wasting it on a turbo, if you are really having traction problems!?

Only in 1st (or sometimes 2nd if damp) and thats mainly due to the cr@p Contis

Nah, theyre the same as any quick fwd car and Ive driven cars that are much worse for traction!

Get some better tyres on there and it will improve things.

nah its happend to me too, if you just change quickly when the wheels have started spinnign in a lower gear can keep it going till 5th hehe.. helps if you find a greasy bit of road in the wet too.
