TV Signal/Areal???

Just moved into my new place and tried setting the TV up etc in my room. I had a booster areal thing before but noticed there was an areal socket - so went and bought a lead from Argos and plugged it into the TV and wall socket - nothing happened.

So have tried setting up with my booster but cannot get a watchable signal. Doing my head in cos my TV cost me a fortune and has Freeview built in etc but I cant get it.

Anyone suggest anything? Im at a loss tbh

you need an aerial, will never work with an areal

lets be honest, it is a blue job so you are bound to fail.

however, sometimes you just don't get any signal.

^^^I bought one of those and it gave next to no improvement. Get Sky or Cable tv installed.

Check there's an aerial.

I just moved into a new build, and it had an aerial, but couldn't get any signal. A booster didn't help either.

I was informed by richy22 on here that I need a masthead amp power supply unit, and it worked!!

So have a look for an aerial first.

You may need to create a loop circuit to watch TV in another room. I've got a signal splitter one to the tv in the lounge the other bak into the wall and then one in my room! Pain in the ass i do need a signal booster as some channels flicker!

Yeah ask the guys you live with. As said with it being a new build it might either have no aerial or have one but not fully installed. If your housemates have sky in the lounge they may not have bothered sorting out the aerial.
