Two Hard Drives

I've got Vista installed on my main hard-drive, if I install a second hard drive with XP running on it, will I be able to access the files stored on the main drive, from XP?

Easier said than done by the looks of things.... my PC copies all the files it needs for the XP install, then reboots and wont carry on with the setup... hanging indefinately. Cant get back into Vista on my old harddrive, so installing an old version of linux so that I can actually use the PC still :S

have you turned the second drive to a primary and your main drive as a slave

Is the XP drive formatted using NTFS???

Just for the security settings etc., and also is one set up as Master (Vista disk) with the Slave using XP?
