Tyre Advice

P

pete.grant

Hi All,

I am in need of some advice regarding the rear tyres on my Mrs' 1.2 Clio. She has one tyre that is around 2 years old, has plentry of tread and is in good condition and has another tyre of a different brand/tread pattern that is at least 5 years old, is cracked and needs to be replaced.

My question is this - is there any need to replace both tyres or can I simply replace the nakered one? I recall hearing/reading somewhere that having two tyres with different tread patterns can have implications on your insurance, is this true?

Many thanks in advance.

I'd go for two new tyres, putting the new ones on the back & the best of the others on the front.
