Tyre Cleaning

I'm not to sure on what is best for tyre dressing. I'm after something that gives the tyres a nice deep black shine.

I would prefer a spray but is a gel better? Any links to some good stuff? Thanks

I use Poorboys Bold and Bright at the moment applied with a paintbrush. Another favoured one is Blackfire

I used to use CG New Look Trim Gel but I would get too much spray off onto the car even after leaving it.

are all these clear or really thick black gel? As i always thought thick gel would be a pain to apply as you have to be carefull around the alloy?

I use a clear spray at the moment which is really easy and quick. literally spray it on and that it. so a decent srpay would be better .

The Bold and Bright is a water based liquid, don't know about the Blackfire as I've not tried it yet.

Blackfire is best I have used. Leaves a gloss/ matte finish depending how much you use, but the blackness lasts for a month at least. Worth the extra money.

I second that comment. Blakfire is great 2 coats and the gloss last ages and no brown effect after rain .

Yep its clear and easy, i use a damp( hardly wet damp ) applicator.

What a coincidence as I've just this minutes done mine!!

I use Black to Back tyre shine (spray). It brings the tyres up really well and doesn't break the bank either!!

Ye thats what i use aswell. does work well but thought maybe i couyld get something that gives it more shine.

Clean and scrub the tyre well to prepare it first with Meguiars APC. This missed stage is where most people go wrong as they skip it.

To Dress, Blackfire Long Lasting Gel or Poorboys Bold and Bright depending on your budget. I apply both with a foam hand pad.
