tyre pressure

right then i assume since im running 17s i will need to run a different pressure to what the car would normally use on the standard 16s so my question is what pressure should i be running and its a mk 2 172 so answers on a postcard

Only a guess, but I reckon they should be around the same as standard.

Check with a tyre/wheel manufacturer to be sure.

hmm, good question. Ive got the Toyos on front (195/45/16_ would they be the same of the contis... ie 32 (i think?).

Thibk we need a definitive table to show us........

its the same !!!

its pressure, not volume, the only reason lorries use really high pressure is because they usually have heavy loads to carry around

and thats why you have higher pressure on the front, cos the engine is there

i use 36 front, 35 rear on mine, as the car handles a lot better with the extra few psi, its up to you though, go with 32-34 if ur not sure

I think, from memory, the manual recommends 32/30 for the 172 and higher for high speed driving. I tried 34/32 round Brands and the car was very skittish. I dropped down to 32/30 and then 30/28 and the car handled much better - far more progressive, especially on the limit.

Hmmm for normal driving on my 172 I use 32/30, for fast road 34/32 and for track 36/34, seems to work very well for me, and when I changed the fronts a bit back the tyre wear was spot on, so no probs :)

maybe its my tyres then, but there is no way id have 28 in !........

you have to just try it out yourself and see what you think is best for how you want the car to act and how you drive
