Tyre Question

I need some tyres on my 172 wheels but im unsure as what to get...

i think the standard tyre for them is 195/45/16?

I was thinking 195/50/16? to soften the ride a little, if u can get them that is not really clued up on tyres

This also raises another little problem... these rub on the rear axle slightly, iv asked robbos who has the same car/wheels and he said he had no problems with rubbing on the axle.
I been using welfare spacers that came with the wheels but they dont seem safe to me lol.

Any1 have a solution to my rubbing problem and tyre confusion

EDIT: Im assuming they will rub on this car as they did on my previous.

Just stick with 195 / 45 / 16 , they are that size for a reason , because the manufacturer found them to be the best size for the car . The difference in profile from 45 - 50 is so small ( slightly less than 10mm ) it'll make bugger all difference to handling that you'll notice when your driving it .
