Tyre rubbing shocks

  Clio 200 LY/SV650S
Own a mk2 Clio Campus non sport.
The previous owner fitted 172 alloys on which are 205/45/R16.
When I turn corners and the car leans the tyres are rubbing the shock absorbers. More on the right side than the left. It never use to do this when I first purchased the car except for when 4 people in, but seems be getting worse to the point does it with me and one passenger in front.

Tried having two friends sit on the boot yesterday and the car almost bottomed out on the tyre :|

What could this be? Suspension? Dodgy arches? Or is there some spacers missing? I have some 25mm spacers but non hub-centric so not keen on fitting them really..

Are you sure it's rubbing on the shocks and not the front bumper/wing clip? Mine was rubbing on that after being lowered.

cant see the 195's making big difference to be honest, the rubbing is really noticable and leaving a nice score into the shock and arch liner.
Rear tyres btw

well it will make 5mm difference each side... can be enough to foul arches and shocks.... they are just the standard 5 spoke 172 wheels?

Yeah just bog standard 5 spoke wheels.
I did consider changing the 205's to 195's but reason is why is my car rubbing yet a friend with a clio mk2 with same alloys/wheel size not? :/

Will get some spacers sorted me thinks give them a try

I've got 195's on 172 alloys lowered 40mm and theres no contact on the rear. The front however needed 5mm spacers. I'll be getting 205's next anyway but not before I get some 20mm spacers. :)
