Tyre shelf life

Hi all,

What is the shelf life of a tyre supposed to be?

The hankook rs-2, that I wanted to purchase have a manufactured date of march 2005! To me that seems old, its older than my 182 cup.

we buy a lot of out of date tyres for the lambos, never had an issue, as long as they're stored correctly they'll be fine

Lol, look at the cars on the site, early 80's things have moved on.

surely unless they're left filthy and in poor conditions then the rubber may degrade, but if they're cleaned i'm sure they'd be fine. Lots of cars will be on the same set of tyres for longer.
