Tyre Size/Ratings

I know the standard for a 182 is 205/45 V16

Im on the Kwik Fit website wanting to order some Rainsport 2's for fitting.


If I choose to search by my VNP for a tyre it comes up with 195/45 V16, which from searching on here I believe is the 172 tyre size, am I correct?


Now if I choose to search by TYRE SIZE (205/45 16) it only comes up with a W rating, which is a higher speed rating.


Would choosing a tyre with a higher speed rating than standard make any difference?

hmmm, the rainsport 2's on my car at the moment are 205's but V rated!

theyll be fine, aslong as the speed rating isnt lower than your roughly top speed then its fine mate

That's what I was just thinking..... Can get them cheaper from probably everywhere else on the planet.

i used http://www.blackcircles.com/ was shocked how cheap they where tbh. plus they can use a garage near by for fitting. give it a try before you buy mate
