Tyre Size

Ive got a Cup, and it came with the standard ContiSportContacts which are 195/45/R16s.

However, after reading the new EVO and many in the past, because they do love the 172s etc, i wondered why they say the clio should wear a 40mm profile? Is this just a typo/error?

The most recent review also states the tyres are specially developed for the car, is this also true?

It is true that the Clio Cup has specially made Contis. I think the 40 profile bit was a typo, i dont know of any mainstream tyre manufactures which do that profile for 16 inch wheels.

must be a mistake as a 40mm profile doesnt exist. A 40 profile does though.

indeed, for 17" = 40/100 x 205 (or195) = tyre wall height

I need tyres on my Cup soon and cant find anyone to supply the contis in the right size. Anyone on here found a source ?

Mytyres.net, however if you want the special contis i guess you need to get them from your dealer.

If you live near or can get to Stevenage then give Alan a call at N & C Tyres. He did both tyres on my cup for £124.

Mobile service and a decent bloke, did it all in about 20 minutes aswell, nice.
