Tyre Time!

Ok, its time for two new tyres.

Back are fine (Toyo Proxes) - Lots of tread, fronts are done. Was thinking about putting the Toyos from the back on the front, then getting two new back tyres. Now, which?!

I was looking at Exaltos.. but I wouldnt mind some Uniroyal Rainsports. Anyone know where to get them? Exaltos are on mytyres.net, but the rainsports dont seem to be?

What about Yokos? Erghhhhh, so many! I dont think I want some more Proxes..

I need 195/50/15s.. (I wouldnt mind 195/45/15, but, then Id need to get 4 new tyres, maybe its worth it?!)

just wondering as ur running 195x50s, how much is ur speedo out? thats what i got on the front of mine and most of the tables/online calculators reckon about 5%?

Im going to a local place, doing me a good deal.. on some Uniroyal Rainsports - cheaper than I can find online anyway!

Dazz, According to Roamers GPS Speed Camera Detector, at 70mph on the clock, Im actually doing 74 (according to GPS).

Im getting Sat Nav and stuff within a few weeks (just getting all bits now), so Ill be able to tell ya more accuratly. (like, what its doing at 30, 40, 50 etc..)

Also, the dials in mine are from a 1.4 S (1998), so I dunno what it thinks the original tyre size is? I think its the dials.. my original tyres were 155/70/13 I think.. but I know its different on the Maxim.

I have just done exactly the same thing in 205/40/17s. My front TOYOs were worn so I put tmy back ones on the front (which still looked new!), and bought some Yoko AVS Sports for the rear. Cant really tell if they are any good or not as they are on the back but they look nice! (profile is slightly slimmer than same size TOYOs)

I got these for £80each including fitting etc

By all accounts the Uniroyals are really good - so Ill end up getting them. Just have the Toyos on the front for a bit.

Might finish these worn fronts off at York.. Ave It. Heh.

well ive jus moved my uniroyal rainsports from the back to the front today so ill let u know how they are Daz, my Nankang NS-1s that i had on the front before had become absolute sh*te in the wet, no grip at all to be honest

jus had Yoko AVS Sport put on the back.........

i can get Yoko/Uniroyal/Michelin at work but you would have to collect em...........in St Helens.....
