Tyres question

Alright my mk1 172 needs new tyres, price is an issue but Im not gonna skimp on quality.

What would you suggest.

Next question, the mk1 originally came with 15" 195/50

My car have 16" 205/45, should I keep the same ratio or drop to 205/35?

i reckon on 16s you shouldnt go lower than a 45 profile tyre unless your car is lowered???? cos itll leave too much empty space under the arch IMHO!

lowering is definately in the plans after the tyres and exhaust

As far as I know 205/35 would take the overall diameter closer to the original

Just get 195. 45s. can lower em loads on them
