UCH and ECU

Are they "paired"

Can a man with a 1.4 MK2 Ph1 buy a UCH of a 1.2 MK2 Ph1 and get it working?

what will be needed? UCH, keys, Barrell?

I think the UCH is paired to the ECU as they come blank new.

I also think that this is a one-time pairing and it cannot then be moved to another ECU.

As for what's needed, no idea sorry!

Injection computer, uch, keys. Has to be from the same engine and trim level as well i expect

The Mk2 phase 1 doens't have a UCH it has a different sort of system

wow this is getting confusing now. edde can you explain a little further mate?

The man with the MK2Ph1 1.4 (it was an MTV special ed i think) is having major problems with his central locking. The renault mechanics are telling him it's a problem with the UCH.

If there is no UCH then does the ECU control the bipper central locking? If so a 1.2 doner ECU isnt going to work with a 1.4 engine is it so that's no good.

little more info would be great. Anyone know for sure if the UCH (or whatever) and engine ECU are paired irreversibly?
