uch/ecu swap

am i right in thinking if i swapped the ecu out of my non cup for my spare cups ecu/uch/key would it wotk minus the auto lights/wipers

for what they worth im tempted to keep itvas a spare since they so tempramental

I asked the exact same question about a month ago and got zero replies , i just wondered if a cup uch would work the climate control

what do know is my cup has ac and its rhestat (heater resistor) was different to both the 172 non cup with ac and the cup without ac

identical all but the last letter of part bumber, iirc ir was ------d/d -------d/f

It would need to be reprogrammed as it wouldn't operate the light adjusters, headlamp washers etc.

washers are blanked off and u dont have the switxh for the headlamp adjuster on my non cup but weirdly i do on the cup-il go have a look see if the wirings there on either

A new UCH is under £300, why f**k about?

main reason is its already had a new one and by the time its coded its more like 400 plus trying to convince the wife to spend 400 on a box for one of my 3 practically identical cars will be alot harder than swapping the uch

It's not as simple as plugging in a headlamp adjustment switch. It will have conflicting information.

pretty sure the non cup is supposed to have it in

either way as it stands my non cup has the same crap non adjustable lights as my cup so its not really a issue

most functions will work yes, you may need to configure some functions, but the basics will be ok. It certainly wont cause any faults (or shouldn't)

If they are both N3 UCH, its even better, as they are full equipment and can be correctly configured.

The only exception is if you have a N1 uch, this doesnt have 'Drivers' electric window going thru the UCH, so if you put a N1 board on a car that is BG, DG, N2 or N3.. you wont get a working O/s power window.

thats all i can think of. that or send me the uch for repair ;-)
