When I got my car the timing belt had been done but not the aux, I noticed it was in bad shape so I ordered a new one today, I recently noticed I had a coolant leak ( its stopped now lol) so when checking it I looked at aux belt and seen this...
Is it OK to drive till new belt arrives or was a short trip away from a new engine ????

Just looks like an old aux belt to me. Not about to die by the looks of it.

Any frays/cracks/damage to the edges and i'd not run it.

I've ran worse but not on purpose.
Any sound advice would be to not drive on that, but it's a few days before Christmas so you'll be limited on a fix any time soon.

When I've seen them fray like that the entire length usually peels back and it's starts to slap. Peel the entire strip off the damaged section.
