Oh, and I'm a girl btw, so please excuse any of my stoopid questions :)

shouldnt have mentioned your a girl on here

sharks are around.

lol

normal lights dont have the 'projector' bit on the outer light, just a silver like 'dish' with a bulb in (same as the 'inner' light)

xenons shine white/blue/purple
normal halogen lights shine a yellow colour.

easy, turn the lights on and squat down and look directly at the light, if it burns the retnas out of you head you have xenons*

*disclaimer, dont do that you wont do your eyesight any favours.

how much to upgrade to xenons then? i have a pretty penny or two to spend :D

to do it properly (levelling sensors and headlight washers etc) will be in excess of £1000 but you can pick up the bulb/wiring/ballast packs from about £400 IIRC.

Same here. Had them fitted to my 2005 1.4 Dynamique as an upgrade option when I ordered the car, was an extra £375 iirc, well worth the money in my opinion. Think they are £500 now on the Mk3 clio as they are "double distance" what ever that means, unless they mean bi-xenon??

Any way, heres a pic on mine on my Dynamique:

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket you can buy me some new tyres if it'll make you feel better :D

lol, as much as i would like to, my tyres need changing too! they have only done 10000miles, i think less of the erratic driving may help! :D tho only the front two need changing

bunzee - very simply way, you'll have headlamp washer jets. Factory fitted xenons will come with them. No washer, no xenons. :)

Cos I don't know :D

Mine have a big black box that the bulb connects to that says xenon on it, and they are a brilliant white light. They are much cheaper to get on ebay

Ah, I'm learning all the time - I only recently found out it had auto headlights :)

When I was planning on getting a 172 I thought "great, Xenons, they look the dogs" But they are actually a lot better than normal headllamps and I think I'd probably pay the extra for the option if they didn't come as standard on a new car. I swear they were about £700 option back around 2002 on non-renaultsport models.

I have Xenons on my clio and paid xtra for them (as an option). They are differently worth the money and tbh I wouldn't buy a car without them now!.

I tell ya its amazing how many people think from the front at night that there's a 172/182 behind them:cool:.
