Uneven Idle..

  Audi TT 225
Well. I've had the cambelt changed as well as a 72k service (the car is only on 65k but i thought i would get it done). Before the car went in it was running smoothly but needed the cam change as it the car is coming up to 5 years old and 72k anyway.

Since i've had it back.. (all new issues i've never had before)

Took 3 attempts to start (it did start but would cut out right away)
Cut out twice before I got to the end of the road.
Cut out again when slowing down to stop at an island (clutch down at the point it cut out).
Managed to drive a couple of miles (didnt have to stop) but soon as i slowed down to stop it juddered, dropped down to around 300 revs, car vibrated and shot up to 1500 revs but didnt cut out. Next time i slowed to stop it did the same thing but this time did cut out again. The car was fairly warm by this stage.
The idle is very uneven and sounds rough, i can see the whole exhaust vibrating, it doesn't cut out when its just sitting there but the whole car vibrates as if its about to stall.

All the usual would have been changed, the Plugs are not new but have been cleaned and reseated. It's going back to the garage after work but are there any things i could check myself or get them to specifically look for? cheers.

Is it an epidemic? Since mine cutted out an idled strange a few weeks ago, everyone else seems to have the same problem. Together with my cambelt and auxbelt, they changed my TDC sensor and sparkplugs. Since then only happened once the day after

tbh im 99.9% certain its a result of the work i've had done, just wondered what the most likely problem would be. Assuming its one of the following

Spark plugs
Coil pack
TDC sensor
Throttle body getting dirty
MAP sensor
Leads
Wiring on the ECU

which is most likely they would have affected during the service, im putting plugs top of this list as i know they have removed and cleaned them. Maybe worth getting them to use new ones? are they easily damaged?

Plugs should last about 60k i would change them and see if there is any difference! Could be coil pack also. ;)

Is there any likelyhood they forgot to / disconnected / moved anything that would cause this during the cambelt change?

Mine was propper poop leaving the garage after the belt chance, idle is still pants (but thats normal) but the car runs fine now and seems to be as good, if not better than before

the idle is not so much of a concern to be honest, but this isn't an idle :) the whole car physically shakes and cuts out every time i stop now, its currently in the garage.

mine is the same to. My mate did a diagnostic check, and its the MAP sensor on mine. I need a new one but they are about £80. Thats alot when you see the size of the thing.

update: its all fixed and purring nicely now :) yay! In fairness they were quick to find and resolve the problem (free of charge of course). Was all due to a split piece of tubing!
