Unlocking a motorola V3i Help Please

Hi, just got a V3i phone and its locked to a network (i was told it was unlocked ), anyone know the unlock code or how i can tell what the previous network was? Thanks

yeah ive googled it but not got much, i was trying to avoid paying out!
I dont know what the previous network was or id have got the unlock code online.
I was looking at that tom, it looks a bit complex!
Might have to go to a shop.
