unlocking iphone from vodafone

hi guys, had a bit of s**t with my iphone and insurance leaving me phoneless atm, im going to buy my an white 3gs 16gb off of a friend for a really good price

problem is its locked to vodafone and im on 02... whats the best way to get it unlocked?
