Updating sat nav maps help

is it really £50 to update maps on ya sat nav. i only paid 100 for the sat nav!

does everyone pay this price to update or are there other ways?

I have a TomTom start... Paid 45 for a map update mate (waste of money tbh) but I get a years worth of free map updates and few extras here and there
