whats ur current spec? agp/pci-e? cpu type? motherboard? I would exspect 360 results if you have a HP lol

Pc graphic cards are lightyears ahead than any console can produce

Not technically true only way to get better is with an 8800gts/x card and well they dont come cheap. You need a DX10 graphics card to achieve 360 levels of details.

If you wanting to go for something like that wait a couple months until ATI's new card launches its due out very soon and it should bring prices down with it. Otherwise your gonna need to shell out £350+ just for the graphics card then another £150 for decent motherboard and £200 for a half decent cpu. plus say another £140 for memory.

basically talking best part of around £1000 for a good PC gaming system.

Whats everyones thoughts on the Connect 3D x1950 Crossfire Edition 512mb paired with the ABIT Fatality AN8 and 2GB ram?

Would what the be like compared to graphics of say a 360?

Would be pretty close but if your gonna spend that much on a new graphics card might as well buy a DX10 card.

Already got it, had it for a while say around half a year. Need to upgrade the CPU is only running around 2009MHZ on a AMD 64 X2 3800+ want to upgrade to something but stick with AMD as prefer these to the Intel's

You have a decent motherbaord get a half decent heatsink and fan and do some overclocking. Some of those 3800 X2's can clock higher than 5200+'s If your gonna upgrade it anyway might as well try overclocking it first.

The Mobo comes with an overclocking program called "OcGuru" never got round to using it as worried about screwing it up. The 5200 runs at 2.6 GHZ doesn't it, well off the top of my head I think that is the speed. You know of any guides to overclock? Thanks for the help didn't know the 3800 was capable of that

easy, buy and xbox 360 if you want 'xbox 360' graphics??..will prob cost less than the new gfx card you buy...

or does buying games scare you ;)

Can justify spending money on a PC as can do a whole lot of things on it. Plus you can by parts for a PC overtime to make it a better machine.

Running at around 2.2ghz now don't think will do anymore than that though as only running the standard fan! Thanks for the help

Kind of, but you'll pay the same money for an Xbox as you will for a decent graphics card. You could get a normal graphics card if you don't play games and it'd be fine..

Might be worth looking at the intels out at the moment. Intel are in front (for the moment) in the never ending processor battle. The E6300 core2duo is an excellent processor for the money.

It'll go higher than 2.2ghz do some googles something will be holding you back. HTT set to 5x or memory divider might be needed a little more voltage be something that makes all the difference but is only a little thing.

But 2.2 still makes it 4200+ speed.

Will look into the E6300 core2duo but Insurance is coming up soon so may have to put upgrading on hold for a month or two

Will have a search around, thanks. Will probly wait untill can get a better fan to keep everything cool at the moment is running at about 50 (C) when gaming and 38(C) on general apps such as Firefox, word etc
