Uprated brake fluid??

  172 cup
Going to braided lines soon, and doing fluid aswell but just wondered what fluid is everyone using? How do they rate it and how do they drive car i.e on track/hard. I've heard good reports about ate racing blue . . . anyone tried it??

I use TRW dot 4 fluid now and had some very good feedback about it as well.
As Fred says dont drain it all out unless you vacume bleed system.

use a good 5.1 (not 5) - Castrol makes the best one but it's 50 quids per liter but any 5.1 will do unles you are racing competitively.

If you use the car on the track alot chnage the fluid every two or three sessions.

You don't need to drain the system, you can do a gravity bleed (takes about two hours).

4 is perfectly adequate for fast road/track use. If it's good enough for Porsche to use on its motorsport models and BMW to use on their M power models it'll sure as hell be adequate for a shitbox clio that weighs considerably less.

I'm using AP Racing fluid (demon tweeks stuff, about £5 per 500ml bottle i think) it's dot 5.1 but i never bought it for that reason, more the high boiling point.
