URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!

Guys im in desperate need of your help...

Basically i went to the petrol garage, fueled up, went in and paid the dollar. Came out, and my car wouldnt disarm. I tried everything possible, i was there for a good hour trying to think of ways, even bought a new battery for the key fob cos i thought it might of been that.

I managed to get in the car using the key, but the motor wouldnt start because of the immobiliser.

Basically i ended up disconnecting the alarm, ripping the wires out to see if it would by-pass the immobiliser, and it didnt work-DOH!

So i had to call my old man to give me a tow, but car moved about 2 metres and the cable snapped. So i had to leave the willy at the petrol station all alone with no alarm.

Basically is there away to by-pass the immobiliser cos im desperate need to get her back? Have i done a mistake by ripping the cables out, or is there some wires that i might have missed?

Is there anyone that know how to sort this????

Cheers

Ian

Oh by the way its a Cobra alarm, dont know the model number im afraid.

best bet is to pay for a tow truck to take it to an auto electrician if you pull too many wires about you might diturb otheer stuff an the bill could end up twice what it would have orinaly been ps cash does wonders for getting the price down

no you cannot by pass the immobiliser - there is a way on the newer cars - its called the overide code. Whats happened is your plip key has lost its code. Ring your local franchise in the morning & tell them your plip key needs re - programming. Its a simple operation done on a xr25 diagnostic pc. it takes about 5 minutes to do ( they will probably charge you 0.5 - half an hours labour) take your log book with you as they will have to send of to renault for the overide & plip codes.

thats if it is the key.

if not get them to do a diagnosis on it.

they are awkward to get passed but thats what immobilisers are for - how many stolen / recovered renaults do you see in the salvage adds - not a lot.

Its just a thought, but Ive heard that some Petrol stations have phone masts in their forecourt signs which are so strong that they override alarm fobs and immobilisers - have you tried to push it a far way from the place and tried again?

Yeah ur spot on there mate, some bloke came up to me while i was there and told me his missus had the same problem.

Problem is, the batt leak from the fob, and now its useless.

if youve actualy pulled the wires randomly so there broke/snapped then id go auto electrition first because the garage will only do the same and charge extra for the privlige. if you know were they go and you can put it back to how it was then put it back together get it to reno and check if it needs programing (an auto lectrition should be able to figure out and if need be bypass the alarm/immobiliser )

Finally managed to get the motor towd home.

Had to goto Halfords (Eugh!!!) and get a towing bar for 20 squids, then got my old man to tow me home. Better than paying £60 for a tow truck.

Anyway, ive booked an Auto Electrician to come out tomorrow and check it all out. He reckons hell get it all sorted for about 40 quid plus VAT. If so, then I can look into get rid of this crappy Cobra and get me an Clifford.

Cross your fingers for me
